Summer Road Trip Essentials: Preparing Your Vehicle

A summer road trip is a classic adventure, but the heat can take a toll on both you and your vehicle. Preparation is key to avoiding a breakdown in the middle of nowhere.

Check Your Fluids

Coolant, oil, and transmission fluid should all be topped off. The cooling system works overtime in summer, so ensure your radiator is flushed if it hasn't been done recently.

Tire Pressure

Hot asphalt increases tire pressure, increasing the risk of blowouts. Check your tires when they are cold, and always carry a reliable pressure gauge and a spare tire.
